List contains places as far away as Wayne (~20 miles) but nothing in Phoenixville? Absolutely should include Majolica (American new). And probably SIPs (French) and Pepperoncini Sotto (Italian) and Black Lab (for Sunday Brunch).

Thanks Robert. Phoenixville was just on the edge of the map. Here is the driving radius:,%20pa&speed=38&time=25&accuracy=5&u=miles&hw=false&at=false&m=false&mode=DRIVING. Candidates would have been Chikara Sushi & Asian Fusion, Thai Place, Soltane, Nook & Craany, Downtown Bangkok, Franco, Amman’s, and Bridgeside, Wasko’s, and Franco. None of the places you mentioned would make the cut.

      • Robert

Agreed Phoenixville is at the edge — but as shows, it’s actually closer to West Chester than Wayne by a few miles (so this seems to be a subjective cutoff rather than data-based). As for which ones make the cut, your original article states “sorted by popularity” — what’s the source? Yelp? Google? Facebook? (I read your article comparing them.) Is it raw rating or does it take into account # of reviews in some formula? I couldn’t find this info in the article. Majolica is one of the best restaurants in the West Chester area, so if it “doesn’t make the cut” that’s interesting. Also, what’s your definition of a restaurant? I love Wasko’s but it’s a take-out sandwich shop only open for lunch.

[EDIT: OK — ignore my comment about the distance being closer. The Freemaptools site you linked initially displayed a pure radius-based region on the map; an exact circle which included Phoenixville and showed it closer than Wayne. Then at some point later, it re-drew to include other criteria like drive time, I think, and it created a complex polygon that did indeed include Wayne but exclude Phoenixville.]

Roberrt, this list doesn’t contain all of Wayne. Raw Can Roll is on the western edge of Wayne, which is closer than Phoenixville to West Chester. As for methodology, I’ve written on that extensively at The data based on an analysis of my 500 past Yelp reviews correlated to online sentiment scores from Yelp, Google, and Facebook. Majolica statistically is not within my margin of acceptance.
